Are these for multiples? Just planning ahead? Or do you already have one (or more) daughter(s) and just want an idea of what works well together?

Assuming you're just planning ahead, a similar sib set like Claire, Emilia and Sophie or Clara, Emeline and Sophie work much better in my mind, and also avoid having two top ten (ok, top 11 LOL) names and one barely in the top 100. I actually love any of those. ;)

Just planning ahead, besides cooking, I dont have much else to do, and I love picking out names for the rest of our kids. lol. The only one I am really stuck on is Claire...can anyone suggest any other names that can replace Emilie, and Sophia? I like the name Sophia, but I think of a cute little spanish girl, not a blonde haired blue eyed girl. Is that just me? lol.

Oh, I totally agree with your perception. I always picture a little Italian girl when I hear Sophia ... funny, since I know so many blue-eyed, blond-haired Sophias, given its current popularity. ;)

That's one of the reasons I mentioned Sophie as an alternative. Not nearly as popular, and much less linked to a certain ethnicity if you KWIM. I can easily picture Sophie fitting a dark- or light-haired child/adult, and it has more of a French or English vibe than anything, so it seems a bit more mainstream as far as image goes.

Some others that might have a similar sound/feel as Sophia, Emilie/Emily and Claire:

Seraphina/Serafina (if you're into nns, Sera, Seri, Fina or even Sadie work here)
Seraphine
Sapphira (sa-FI-ra ... long "i")
Saphira (sa-FEER-a)
Sonya/Sonja (lesser-used forms of Sophia)
Savarra
Claribel/Clarabel
Clarice (said Claire-is or kla-REES)
Clarissa
Clara
Emilia
Emeline/Emmeline (mentioned these last three in my previous post)
Emelina
Amelia
Amelie (ah-me-LEE ... almost like Emily with an "ah" beginning)
Amalia (ah-MAH-lia)
Chloe
Daphne
Phoebe
Penelope
Pearl
Ruby
Isadora/Isidora

They work extremely well together, although I do think Sophie works a bit better than Sophia. I would definitely spell it Emily though- Emilie just looks confusing. Keep it simple.

To me, it always looks a little off when two sisters both have names with common French and Latin endings (-e or -ie vs. -a or -ia), and there is one of each. Maybe it's my years of French immersion and French Canadian background? So sisters named Danielle and Gabriella, or Isabella and Julianne, would strike me as a little odd. In your case, I would definitely go with either Claire, Emilie and Sophie or Clara, Emilia (or maybe Amelia) and Sophia. At the moment, it's the Latin endings that are more popular in most cases, (Isabella rather than Isabelle or Isobel), although the numbers seem to be closer here in Canada, with the French influence. However, Clara is less common than Claire, a little bit more adventurous, and with Emily so monstrously popular, I think I'd prefer the second grouping, even though Sophia seems to be a little more popular than Sophie (okay, having looked it up, much more popular in the US, but from my observations the disparity must be rather less north of the border). I do like the suggestion of Emmeline, though (preferring the double-M, myself) and Claire, Emmeline and Sophie might edge out Clara, Emilia and Sophia for me.

I think it would work better if it was Claire, Emilie, Sophie. Sophia has a Latin feel the others lack. The others are French...Sophie is too.

In principal I agree that you should choose between -ie or -a endings. but if you go with the Claire, Amelia, Sophie grouping, I don't find that Amelia has the same latin "feel". Of course the Amelia could be changed to Amelie or Emmeline. I just prefer Amelia to Emmeline personally.
