You mean like the revolver? Not a nice image for a girl. Or any child.

I don't even like it for a boy. It's got too much of a violent connection.

reminds me too much of the Remington electric razors, don't know if they're still around or not. even without those razors it sounds like a name of a big company. also, it's certainly not a bit feminine sounding.

I don't want to be mean to the last couple of posters, but give me a break!!! Obviousely you're anti guns. No one else has even metioned this on another board. But I guess that's what I get for starting this post. It won't happen here again. Every name I've asked about here someone(actually alot) have been very negative and rude about. I knew there were opinionated people on here, but good lord!! Maybe this is just pregnancy hormones, but you won't see me here again!!

From what I can see, no one was rude.. just honest. Personally, I wouldn't mind Remington on a boy but even I think it's lousy for a girl. There's not an ounce of femininity to it nor does it even sound pretty. If I was a girl named Remington I'd be changing my name as soon as I could, legally (and I grew up with a regular, crappy boy's name myself). Your boys have awesome names.. why do you want to give a girl a rough, unpretty name? Is there something wrong with being a girl these days?

LOL! I can't believe you think I'm anti-gun because Remington reminds me of violence. FYI my DH and I are members of the NRA!!!!!!!! Don't ask for opinions if you don't want them to be honest.

Just jumping in here to say that I don't think this really has anything to do with being anti-gun. I like guns - have quite a few myself - but I wouldn't consider the name Remington for a child.

I don't think anybody was particularly rude, they just stated their opinions.

Sorry but they're right - Remington is a famous maker of rifles with a well-known trademark name and yes, pretty much anyone who can read the newspaper will make the association.

I don't like Remington for a girl. I do like Remy, which is practically the same as Remington.
