I am 4 months pregnant and my husband and I are trying to get our parents warmed up to the name Lauren Elisabeth if it is a girl and Sean Robert, or Sean Christopher if it is a boy. (The Robert is after my husbands first name, Christopher is after my deceased brother). Both my parents and his parents do not like Lauren, but I think it is very pretty! What you you think?????

I personally have always liked the name Lauren. It's simple and pretty. I also like Elisabeth for the middle name. I'm not a big fan of Sean though. I prefer Shane over Sean. I like the way Christopher Sean sounds though, as well as Shane Christopher. Good luck, and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Lauren is a beautiful name! It is lovely, not too fussy. Lauren Elizabeth sounds so classy. My neice is Lauren.

I love your the names you picked for a boy as well. I love Sean but already had a nephew named that. My ds is Christopher so of course I like that as well.

All three names are great. Best of luck, if you both like the name use it. They will get used to it!

I like Sean Christopher better than Lauren Elisabeth. Lauren, to me is very 90's and feels dated and stale. I'd prefer the softer, less used Laurel paired with Elisabeth or the more classic combo of Laura Elisabeth.

I'll be honest - I have never seen the name Lauren as "pretty" and always wondered how it was so popular. It also seems to have dropped off as far as popularity. I know a lot of them my daughter's age (23) give or take a few years. but pretty, no, it's not - and at one time it was a male name. you don't hear it for that anymore, but years ago it was.

here are some names that I feel are in the Lauren style, but are "prettier"

Aubrey, Amber, Caitlin, Courtney, Dannah, Devyn (although unisex), Erin, Elyse, Gina, Heidi, Jenna, Kara, Kelsey, Molly, Maura, Megan, Rayna.

I like the boys name, but prefer the Shawn spelling.

good luckl

I *love* the name Lauren.

I'd name her that just to spite the others :o) (which is why I almost named my daughter Quinn...everyone else hated it). (It's a good kind of "mean")

(not Lauren because it was too close to my own name)
