Allie is my favorite nickname for Alexandra. I love the nn Allie but I'm not a big fan of Allison, which is the most popular long form of Allie. So if I were dead-set on the nickname Allie, I would definitely choose Alexandra over Allison.

I also like Alexa as a nn for Alexandra.

I realize that Alexandra's are more often called Alex for a nickname, but I know two Alexandra's who are called Allie - both young teenagers (13-14 maybe)

I prefer it to Alex and I hate Lexi

good luck

What a surprise to see this. My daughter is named Alexandria and we call her Allie. She's 13 yrs old. I wanted to call her Alex but my mom and hubby liked Allie so it just stuck. Hubby's middle name is Alexander. We were expecting a boy but ooops! I had no name and decided that Alexandria was nice. Not too common. My daughter still hates it LOL she says it's too long.

I like it. The little girl next door (5) is named Alexandra nn Allie and it fits her! She's spunky and friendly. Long brown/blonde hair and impish grin.
