I personnally wouldn't try to match names for kids, but I would want them to sound nice together. If there were 2 names that I liked that ended up seeming matchy, I might still use them though. I really like A and L names for both boys and girls, so it might be hard for me to cross some of them off the list just because 2 of them might have names beginning with the same letter. I wouldn't feel that they would all have to start with the same letter though even if 2 of them happened to.
DH really likes names ending with -lyn. His grandmother's name is Gwendolyn, which we would like to use. My grandmother's name is Evelyn which we both would like to use, but I think we may just use Eve instead (or maybe Evelyn as a mn). He also likes Rosalyn (I'm not sure which spelling he likes) but it is going to get nixed since there is no family connection.
Do pet names count? I have a coworker who has 2 dogs and 2 cats.
The dogs are Bailey and Barney (both boys) and the cats are Bella and and Baxter.
I like all their names and they are really cute together (esp for pets!)
