I like it in theory, but it reminds me of stockings (and yes, I also know about the restaurant, although that doesn't really bother me ... many restaurants are named for people).

I LOVE Nola, however, if you're open to similar names. There's also Nora, Kyla, Lila, etc.

We're getting a lot of flak b/c of Britney's restaurant but we liked it before we knew about the restaurant...we heard the name on the "Baby Story" on TLC.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback.

I really dislike it. Sorry. All I can think of are Nylabones, a popular dog chew toy.

I'm not sure if you pronounce it Neela or N-eye-la... I think the N-eye-la reminds me of nylons... but I really like it pronounced Neela. Sounds like a very beautiful name... I can picture it on a baby with auborn or dark hair but not really for a toe-head or blond.

I've known two Nylas in my lifetime (one Nyla, one Nila). Both sweet girls, so I have a positive association with it. Both were middle eastern/Armenian descent, so I associate it with beautiful dark hair and olive skin.

AJ, enjoying life with C.
