Eliana really is pretty and not nearly as popular. For what it's worth, I think I would spell it Ellie not Elie. Just because Eliana only has one 1 in it doesn't mean the nn can't have 2. But the reason I say this is if I see Elie I think it is pronounced

EE lye, not Ellie.

I voted Eliana, but actually like Kate better. I didn't vote for it because I don't care for Katelyn. It is way too overused. Kate alone is so nice.

Good Luck,

Thanks for your reply! I was wondering about that. I would spell it Ellie- you've confirmed it. I absolutely love this name, the only problem is my pastor's wife just named her baby this (I had already picked out this name)- I wouldn't want the whole church thinking I named it after her. I think their middle name is Joy as well! Ug! We are going to have Joy because it is my middle name. Would you still avoid the name Eliana based on this? Thanks again!

I relly like the nn Elly & the name Emily.

Emily mv as I prefer it to Eliana. I like Elly as a nn for Elisabeth (my dd), Ella or Elinor/Eleanor.

I like Kate as well, but not so much Katelyn. I prefer Cathleen/Kathleen or Catherine/Katherine.

Thanks for your reply! Do you like the NN Emi as well as the name Emily?

Thanks again!

I vote for Emi, but I would go with Emme as the full name and spelling! I know a woman named this, and it doesn't seem like a "nickname" at all. Emily is terribly popular...I think it is #1 still...but you don't see too many Emme's.

Just my opinion!
