The Enola Gay was the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. I wouldn't burden a child with that name.

Yes, I immediately this of the Enola Gay, too. I think that's probably why you aren't getting a more positive reaction to it.

It's pretty in and of itself but I don't care for it because it reminds me of the Enola Gay ship and of the ebola virus.

I'm really sorry to laugh at your name choice, but I live in Central PA within 5 minutes of a town called Enola! LOL!! Actually, I'm even looking to buy a townhouse there!

I guess since I live so close to a town with the same name, I just can't see it as a person's name. Not that it's horrible or anything though!

Good Luck!

Looks like there are many associations with the name.

you don't give an indication of whether this was for a boy or girl - but either way I'd have voted "hate it" - there's an actual town called this about 20 minutes from me, so I guess I'm curious as to where you got the word and what made you think it was a name. also, unfortunately, two things popped into my mind literally simultaneously - the town near me and the Ebola virus in Africa.

sorry.
