We are considering the name Estella for our second daughter, and we'll use the nn Stella. Our last name is Miller, and my other daughter's name is Madeline (Maddie). Any thoughts on the names Estella or Stella? The few people I've mentioned it to either love it or hate it; no in betweens!

Which sounds better:

Estella Mae Miller

Estella Brielle Miller

I would also welcome any other middle name ideas. Thanks!

I've never really liked Estelle or Estella much, probably because I just think of Estelle Getty and it screams "old lady" to me. BUT, I do really like Stella! Weird! I think it's a nice change from Ella that keeps popping up everywhere.

I think Estella Mae sounds better than Estella Brielle, just because of the double 'el'. These combos go together well with Miller too...

Estella Claire

Estella Danielle (oops, double el again)

Estella Dawn

Estella Faith

Estella Grace

Estella Joelle

Estella Jane

Estella Kerry

Estella Leah

Estella Marie

Estella Nicole

Estella Noelle

Estella Paige

Estella Rachelle

Estella Renee

Estella Victoria

I like both Estella and Stella, maybe Stella a little more. It just sounds more modern. Using Estella is a good idea because then she has a choice of which to use. I just love the combo Estella Mae Miller! I don't like the sound of Estella Brielle, but I'm not a fan of Brielle anyway. Good luck to you! ~Lucy

I love both Estella and Stella! I'd use it if I had twin girls (first choice is Emerson!) :) Good luck!

You could use Estee. (Es-tee). IMO, Stella is too "old lady."

And to the previous poster, Emerson is just too masculine a name for a girl. Think of when she's an adult.

OH, YES! I do love this name! Not many people agree w/me on this one! LOL! JMHO and NOT meaning to hurt any feelings, BUT Estella Mae w/Miller seems a bit much. AND Estella Brielle has TOO many Ls. My suggestions (for what they are worth)

Estella Cathryn Miller. 'pure star'

Estella Hope Miller. 'star (of) hope'

Estella Faith Miller. 'star (of) faith'

Estella Paige Miller. 'young star'

Estella Josephine Miller. 'God adds (a) star'

Estella Ruth Miller. 'friend star'

Estella Evelyn Miller. 'star (of) life'

Estella Elizabeth Miller 'star conscreted to God'

Estella Christine Miller.

Like any of these?

Good luck!

I love it!!!! I'm not crazy about Mae or Brielle for the MN though. Maybe:

Estella Faith

Estella Christine

Estella Marie

With your last name that's a lot of "L's".
