Ever heard the name Soren...?

...for a boy? I'm thinking of it for a middle name - Charles Soren. It is the name of a philosopher, but I think he's Swiss or German - it has those two dot things over the 'O'. Is it weird? Any impressions?

My other thought is Charles Leo.

Thanks,

Eve

I knew someone in college named Soren. It was the first time I had heard the name and thought it sounded really cool. I still really like the name. It is Scandinavian, but I don't know any more about it.

Good luck!

Soren Kirkegarrd was a philosopher - of transendental thought I believe...

There's a baby boy in on our playgroup board named Soren...I love it.

I think there was also a Star Trek character by that name, LOL.

I like Soren! I know one boy named Soren...his mom is Scandanavian by birth. They say sah-REN...sort of...it's hard to write the pronunciation! LOL

There is a boy in my son's preschool who's name is Soren. I believe his parents are of German descent. I think it is a cool name but I would drop the two dots over the O.

I love it. I haven't met any Sorens, but I really, really, really like it. So much, in fact, that I would consider stealing it, LOL, and that doesn't happen to me very often on these boards. I don't think it would go w/ my last name, though, which sort of bums me out (that, and the fact that I'm not even pregnant).

I really really really love it.

A fellow philosophy major? Kierkeggard is my favorite, which is why I like the name. Didn't know about the Star Trek thing, though!
