I hope that this doesn't get too confusing. My BIL (DH's brother) and his wife have a 6 year old named Silvia. They NNed her "SiSi" (pronounced just the same as CeCe). They also have a 2 year old named Cecelia. They obviously couldn't call her CeCe, so they call her Cilia (not sure of the spelling, but it's pronounced "Cil-ya". I find it VERY confusing because (at least to me) it seems like they have each others' NN. Silvia is SiSi and Cecelia is Cil-ya.

I think Cecilia is the more common spelling. My girlfriend discovered this when naming her daughter Cecilia even though she is using the nn CeCe. Other nns from my baby book; Sissy, Celia, Lia.

Hope that helps.

Cecilia nicknamed Cecily is cute. Cilia and Celie (like The Color Purple) are ones I've heard.

I've always liked Cecelia, esp since she is the patron saint of music! I did have one piano student with this name. She didn't use a nn at all.

I know one little girl who is called Celee - with the accent on the second syllable -

ce-LEE.

Cecelia Jane is a great name!
