I voted for Bea, which is my second favorite after my first favorite of TRIXIE, which wasn't on your list, lol.

I'd have voted for Trix or Trixie too. I adore Beatrix, but am not really wild about any of the nickname options. If I used this for my daughter I'd probably call her Bea or Trix occassionally as sort of a nickname-of-convenience. But I'd almost always call her Beatrix and would probably strongly encourage others to do the same.

My sister's number one name for a future daughter is Beatrice. Sometimes she likes Beatrix more, but I doubt she will ever get her husband on board with Beatrix. She likes the nn Bea the best and so do I. I think that Trixie sounds trashy. I am suprised that so many people like it.

Bea (Bee) - adorable, there will be the Aunt Bea comments, but those will be few and far between
Beata (be-AH-tah) - reminds me of the fish
Bette - ok
Betty - nms
Betsy - way to 1950s for me
Bess - ok, sounds old
Tess - love it! but seems like a stretch
Bebe - interesting, will have to show this one to my sis
Bixi - ok, a little too cutesy for me

I wasn't quite sure how to phrase that, but ITA. Trixie has a very flaky, trashy feel to me, so I could never use it personally, though Trix doesn't bother me as an occasional shortening (though that still reminds me of "tricks," and I won't go into depth on that LOL).

Beatrix is actually in the top five of my "if we somehow end up with girl #4" list , partly because my grandmother's mother and sister were both Beatrice, one called Betty/Betsy/Bess (or so I'm told ... I never met her) and the other my Aunt Beatie (sounds like bead-ee), so I was just wondering what other nns people preferred. Just for fun, like I said ... not expecting or anything. ;)

I personally like Beata but it is probably just because I am familier with it as a Polish name.

Trixie, I think, with Bea as a second choice. I like Beata, but everyone would shorten it further to Bea, anyway.

Trixie just reminds me of the Trixie Belden books - a very wholesome, family-fun type association! Bea is my favourite from the list but I also love Bex.
