I voted "they're ok" Emily is the all time #1 girls' name and has beeen used to death already.. but it's a pretty name & I quite like it especially spelled Emily. But the main reason I voted "just ok" was Alia. Alia looks as though it should be pronounced Ah-lee-ah, *not* all -ya. I think Alia is gorgeous but only when pronounced the way it looks, phonetically. Otherwise poor Emily will correcting the pronunciation of her middle name forever. I like Tanner Roy.

I agree with momtokat. Alia definitely will be mispronounced as it looks like Ah-lee-ah. Love FN Emily though! Maybe a different spelling of Alia would give you the pronunciation results you're seeking? Allya/Alya look pretty awkward though...maybe someone else will have a better idea for you! JMHO, but I think the flow of Emily Ah-lee-ah is a lot nicer than Emily All-ya. Would you consider that pronunciation at all?

Tanner is a name that I don't really like because I imagine (A) a person who tans animal hides or (B) a person who uses/overuses tanning beds (partly because there is a nearby tanning salon called Tanner's Corner). But I *don't* hate it...I just think of the bad associations first, which is my problem ;-) I try to get past that. I do like MN Roy.

Good luck!

I had a little trouble finding the exact right dot to vote in because here's the thing - I like Tanner a lot - don't like Roy with it, realize it's a grandfather's name, but with Tanner ending in R and Roy starting with R it doesn't flow well. it ends up sounding like all one word Tanneroy.

Emily is just too common for me to ever vote for - it's not necessarily a "hate" - it's just way too overused - probably because it does have a pretty sound. but Emily and Alia together is just way too vowel heavy

good luck.

I'd keep the Tanner, start looking at other relatives (husband's first or middle possibly or your dad's first or middle - or that grandfather Roy's middle possibly) for a different middle name

I'd change the Alia to the first name and look for something else for the middle. Alia (although I would pronounce it A-LEE-ah, not All-ya. try a middle that doesn't start or end with any vowel since Alia has three vowels in it.

good luck
