I voted other because without any background information I wouldn't have known Brady is an Irish surname. I don't see Brady being part of the Aidan/Caden/Braden trend. Now that I know that Brady is an Irish surname I know that is why you chose it...but that's not what you asked, lol. If I heard the name Patrick Brady on the street I would think they are pairing a newer name with an older one which I like. Patrick is not my style but Brady is. Put both of them together and I think it's a great name and flows very nice, too. I'm not sure if I answered your question or helped you out.

It does help. :)

I'm just curious to see what people think without background info. As you (and everyone else at this point ) knows, Brady is a family name for me -- my grandmother's maiden name.

If you like it, does it really matter if others do consider it trendy? What's wrong with liking a trendy name? Lol. I know, everyone has their own opinions and tastes and pet peeves. Some like trendy, new names, others like old, classic names, others like names that are just out there and some are a little bit of everything. I know that you don't like trendy names so I can see why you're asking. Sometimes I even wonder if I know what trendy names are. I do know what classic names are and those ones I don't like, lol. Enough about me. I say if you like Patrick Brady, then use it, girl.

Hey, Annie. ;)

I would know Brady was an Irish surname, but it wouldn't be my initial thought or anything, and I definitely wouldn't toss it in with the Aidan/Caden/Braden trend. Just not the same to me.

My initial reaction on hearing Patrick Brady together would simply be that it was a really nice pairing.

I did wonder, though ... if you did end up with a little Patrick Brady, would he generally go by Patrick or Brady, do you think? I'm just wondering if the repetitive "ick" sounds in the fn and ln would bother you (since the mn is often left out of general use, KWIM? ... and I KNOW Pat is out ). Anyway, just wondering. ;)

I didn't know that Brady was an Irish surname, but I don't consider it part of the Aiden/Braden trend either. Honestly, my first thought would be that at least one parent was a huge football fan and wanted to name the child after Tom Brady. I know at least one Payton who was specifically named after Payton Manning, and I've seen other similar names.

Sorry that wasn't what you wanted to hear! I do like the sound of Patrick Brady a lot, though -- Patrick is a great name!

That's really funny since I honestly don't even know who Tom Brady is -- I've never been a football fan. I'm actually surprised more people haven't said it reminds them of The Brady Bunch.
