I love it. I've always loved Gianna, and lately I've been loving Giada even more. I won't use either (because I think both would seem odd on a child with no Italian heritage) but I love them both.
Oh. My. Lord. That woman on The Food Network drives me C-R-A-Z-Y! As such, her name and everything that reminds me of her are awful, even though the name alone, without the connotation, isn't bad at all.
Giada is pronounced like "JYAH-dah" ("jyah" in one syllable) and means "jade" in Italian. I think there would probably be pronunciation trouble with Americans, unless they watch the Food Network : ) Personally I think Giada de Laurentiis is really cute! (Although her huge smile can be a little excessive sometimes.) Valerie
