I love Mallory! It's cute for a little girl and pretty for a grown woman. It's well known, but not popular. I think it's a great choice. Personally, I don't put any stock names with bad meanings. It just doesn't bother me at all. How often does that come up in day to day life anyway?

I voted for Gwendolyn but I could just as easily vote for Mallory.

I voted for Gwendolyn-- to me it is a lovely, underused and very feminine name! It doesn't hurt that one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen was named Gwendolyn...she went to college with me and was just one of those people that lit up a room. So, it's hard for me to put that aside completely. But even if I try to, the name is still lovely! It has a lightness that Mallory doesn't (Mallory seems heavy to me...) Melanie (a name you ddin't mention but I think you might like), on the other hand, seems light and feminine. Have you ever considered it?
