Hi there,
My DD's name is Claire Elise. I'm already htinking of a name for #2 even though we aren't officially "trying" yet.
Here are some of our faves:
Anna
Amélie
Audrey
Evelyn/Eveline
Elinor/Eleanor
Madeleine
Phoebe
Sophie
Sarah
Our cultural backgrounds are a mixture of French, German, Irish/British, and Spanish.
My personal fave so far is Sophie. but I am a bit worried that is sounds too much like my name - Stephanie. WDYT?
Any other suggestions for names that owuld go nicely with Claire Elise? TIA!

I don't think Sophie is too close to your name.
Hi there, Stephanie. Claire Elise is beautiful! Good work naming that one. Here are my thoughts on your list:
Anna-I like it a lot, & it goes nicely w/Claire.
Amélie-Beautiful.
Audrey-That's sweet. I don't love it as much w/Claire, but it's not bad.
Evelyn/Eveline-I'd definitly prefer Evelyn. My friend's grandmother was named Eveline & she actually changed her name to Evelyn because she thought it sounded more classy. I agree.
Elinor/Eleanor-I'd prefer the latter spelling, but this still isn't my favourite.
Madeleine-I love it as long as you can avoid the dreadful 'Maddie'.
Phoebe-Sweet.
Sophie-Very nice, & it's great w/Claire. I don't think it's too close to Stephanie. Maybe for sisters, but it shouldn't be a big deal for mother & daugther.
Sarah-I do like Sarah, but not w/Claire for some reason.
Here are some suggestions:
Annelie
Belle
Daphne
Elle
Elisabeth/Bess/Elle
Emmeline
Eloise
Elodie
Grace
Gemma
Hope
Hannah
Ivy
Isabel
Jane
June
Juliet
Josephine/Josie
Lucy
Lily
Lydia
Maya
Mia
Nina
Rose
Stella
Tess(a)
Violet
Zoe
Hope this helps!
First, I want to say that I think this is a great list. You really can't go wrong with any of these names. My favorites are probably Anna, Maya, and Amelie, but they're all beautiful. Claire Elise was a gorgeous choice as well.
I also wanted to say that my name is Stephanie, and we have a cat named Sophie, and the similarity of our names never crossed my mind. I know that a pet is not the same as a child, but I have never once misunderstood someone if they were talking to or about the cat. We call her Soph quite a bit, too, and I've never misunderstood that for Steph. Like another poster said, Sophie might be too similar to a sister named Stephanie, but as a mother/daughter, I think it will be fine.
Good luck making a final decision!
Stephanie, mom to Megan Joy (nn Meg) and Julianna May (nn Annie)
I think Claire and Anna as sisters is sooo sweet. Overall I think all the names on your list compliment Claire very well. Good luck!
