Girls name....My fave Vs. His!!!
- Kyleigh Nicole
- Brooklyn Nicole
You will not be able to change your vote.

How about Brooke Noelle as another option? Brooklyn Noelle is okay, but the N's run together- brooklyN Noelle... it kind of slurs itself (not to mention Brooklyn is very trendy and Brooke seems much stronger). Kyleigh is a name to avoid right now. It is horribly trendy, especially considering the similar names - Kayla/Kyla/Kaylee/Kyra/Keira/Kiera/etc. If you must use it, I would choose a more common spelling to avoid a bit of confusion.

I voted for Kyleigh for the same reasons previously stated ... Brooklyn is incredibly trendy (and meaningless, unless you're from there) and runs into the mn Nicole.
However, simply Brook(e) would avoid both those issues.
I also agree that Kyleigh looks a bit too forced (on first glance, I didn't even realize it was Kylie -- I believe the most common/familiar spelling), so maybe a simpler spelling would work better? Assuming the whole K trend doesn't bother you, obviously , I really like Kyla a lot as an alternative, if you're open to suggestions. It grows up much better, but you can still use Kylie as a childhood nn.

Another vote for Kyleigh. Brooklyn just doesn't inspire a nice thought. I'm from the south and the picture I have of Brooklyn is a dirty part of New York where people have very obnoxious accents. Plus, I knew a couple of guys in fraternities with the nickname of Brooklyn. It also makes me think of the Beastie Boys song "No Sleep Til Brooklyn". It's just not very feminine.
*Idea: You could break it up into two words Brook Lynn.

Actually, I was born in Brooklyn and for that reason I would never name a child that!!! lol... even though it's gotten "better" there (and some areas themselves, like Williamsburg and Cobble Hill, have become "trendy"), I still associate it with dirty streets and goumbas... not something I want to be top-of-mind regarding a child's name, lol... ;-D
I also think Brooklyn Colette might work as well

To be honest, having lived about an hour or two away all my life, I completely agree with you. ;) I guess what I meant was that I could sort of understand wanting to name a child after the place you were born or raised in, whatever that may be (assuming you don't live there anymore ... it'd be even more odd to be named Brooklyn and actually live in Brooklyn ROFL), but otherwise I truly don't see the appeal. Especially when you're talking about a well-known place generally associated with dirt or crime or whatever. I feel the same about Trenton and Camden, FWIW, and always assume anyone using those names for children has never actually been to New Jersey.

hahaha, ITA with:

I've seen people suggest Camden as a name, and it makes my stomach turn a bit, lol...
The other thing with the "name" Brooklyn is that is reminds me of a kind of garish, uncultured, brazen character that used to be on General Hospital, Lois- she was from Brooklyn and named her daughter...yup, Brooke Lynn (or some variation of that, lol...maybe she even spelled it Brooklyn- yuck).

ROFL! My grandmother watches that soap, and I totally remember who you're talking about (the woman who played her is on Heroes now, sans accent ). And I think you're right ... I seem to remember the actual name being "Brook(e) Lynn," because they made a big deal out of how creative and unheard-of it was. LOL I cringed even then.
