I chose Laura because it happens to be my name! My middle name is Lea (pronounced Lee). I have never had a problem of bad nicknames growing up, it really can't be shortened, and it's not overly popular. I do tend to have a problem with people calling me Laurie or Lauren though.

Laura got my vote. It's timeless, lovely and ages very well (I'm a bit biased as well, it's my name).
My least favorite is Avelyn. It doesn't feel very feminine to me, reminds me of a town near where I grew up that wasn't very pretty and makes me think that someone smushed Ava and Lynn together to make a name. It's just not pretty to me.

I voted for Natalie. It has always been a name that I have loved by DH did not like it and still does not, so I know it will not be one of our choices. I do not like Abigail. It has just always been a name that I have never cared for at all. No real reason, just don't care for it personally. Also, Avelyn, I have never heard of that before. Did you make it up, or find it somewhere? Good luck!

My vote went to Shannon, why...I just always loved that name. It sounds strong, but feminine. My second favorite would be Natalie, it's very pretty & my best friend when I was in high school had the name Natalie. My least favorite is Larissa, I guess I'm not fond of the Carissa, Clarissa, names.

Your list has some great names on there. I voted for Elena, as that name, except I had thought to spell it Elayna, was on my very short list had this baby been a girl. I can honestly say that out of the names listed, the only one that I didn't like was Shannon. Just not my type of name I guess--possibly a throw back to when I was younger, have never known a Shannon that I have really liked. Crazy, I know.
