Girls Names....WDYT of Kaelynn

I was wondering what you all think of Kaelynn? I don't particularly care for the odd spellings of names..but since I'm against all the overused names including the supposed rare spellings with all the added 'y's to make them unique (just my choice... to each is own). I find myself liking Kaelynn, which falls into that oddly spelled name. The only reason I'm leaning toward it is because my name is Kimberly Lynn...and my mom who is past away is Carolyn. So Kaelynn would be like both of our names. The middle is going to be Margaret for DH mother who is passed. I kind of want a K name...but refuse to use Kaitlynn, Kaylee or any of the other overused names. Kaylynn has too many y's Kaelynn is a little wierd with the 'e'. I like the lynn at the end for my name. Any suggestions...all comments welcome!!

Thanks!!
Kim

IMO, Kaelynn is right up there with the overused 'K' names (Kaylee, Kilee, Keely, Kinsey, Kaitlyn). What about just using Carolyn? The 'lyn' part can also refer to your MN.

I love this name, I'm just not sure about the spelling. But like you said, its your choice. Personally, I like it Kaylin or Kaelyn, but the name is really pretty!

Are you accenting the second syllable? DH and I fell in love with some old friends' baby girl many years ago before we had our own, and her name was Kaelynn. It was pronounced like Kay-Lynn rather than Kaylin. KWIM? So when I see it, I instantly emphasize the second syllable.

I think it's a cute spelling and certainly easy to figure out. I think the name Kaelynn isn't one of those names with an "official" correct spelling...at least it's not to me.

I understand that you'd like to honor your mother, but I'm afraid that my gut reaction to the name Kaelynn is trendy and not very substantial. I would put it in the Kaylee category.

What about the name Kara? It gives you the K but looks better on a resume. If it wouldn't be too painful and you were OK without the K, then what about Carolyn?

After reading all the posts I'm in agreement. I think Kaelynn is in the Kayleigh, Kaylee, Kaitlyn, Kayla category. However, Kaylin is a name I've been tossing around even though I'm not into super trendy names. I don't think the spelling Kaelynn makes it any more or less trendy or "weird". I think it flows well and does indeed pay homage to your mother.

I do have a suggestion though, how about Karalyn? or Karalynn? It's pronounced like your mother's name but is more like yours because of the K. It's not common, but it's still easy to figure out how to pronounce it. Just my opinion!

I dont like it. Carolyn is a MUCH MUCH nicer name. I just love Carolyn.

Carolyn Margaret is lovely.

If you must have the lynn at the end, then Carolynn.

Well after thinking it over...I agree. I don't like the whole Kaelyn, Kaylee, K's craze right now. It sounds like I left the t out of Kaitlynn. DH doesn't really care for it either, and overall he is NOT picky about any names I propose to him. Thanks for the input!! I kinda like Carolyn Margaret! I also like Kara, although that's our dogs name... :)

I'm back to liking Grace. I thought of that name as I was listening to a Christian radio station, then when I looked at the top name list, Grace was there!! I guess it's a very popular middle name. I like it for a first name, which would be different. Maybe Grace Margaret?

Thanks again!

I think Kaelynn is a beautiful name!! And I love how it is a mix of your mothers and your name, that just makes it really special. I also love the spelling 10 times more than Kaylynn, so I say go for it!!!
