"Gus" needs a name

Our second little boy is due in 10 weeks and has been going by "Gus" to family and friends. Our first is Samuel (we call him Sam). My husband has grown attached to the temporary name of Gus but I'm afraid it sounds too much like an old man. Some of our other considerations:
Benjamin (Ben), John, Henry, Jake...
Any ideas/thoughts?

I too thought August, nn Gus would be an awesome name for a brother of Samuel, nn Sam!!
From your choices, to pair with brother Samuel, nn Sam; I'd go with Benjamin, nn Ben. John's good too but feels a bit blah next to Sam. Jake is too popular (it's the traditional nickname for the number one boy's name for nigh on seven years now) and Henry looks to me to be headed in Jacob's direction, fast.
August Benjamin would be my choice, hands down!
I love the name Gus, it was on my list for sometime but doesn't work with my last name. I don't think you have to have a longer name but if you would like to try, August, Augustus, Angus or Gustav.
My great grand dads brothers name was August and when he moved to USA he became Gus
I hope you can talk your husband out of keeping "Gus"
here are some I feel are Samuel companions:
Alexander, Andrew, Benjamin, Christopher, David, Jacob (not just Jake), Lucas, Nicholas, Nathan or Nathaniel, Matthew, Michael, Marcus, Stephen, Thomas, William, Zachary
good luck
