I think Mackenzie has been taken over as a girl's name in recent years, so I voted for Matthew (always a favorite - very nice).

Mackenzie: Is this a family name? Because it's also a VERY popular girl's name. My vote went to Matthew.

Thanks, girls! Mackenzie is a family name and I was thinking it would be too girly. Matthew is DH's middle name, so that is a sweet choice as well. THANK YOU!

Have you considered a bit of a compromise of the two? MacMathan is the Scottish surname literally meaning "son of Matthew," and Matheson is used as an Anglicization of that, so Colin MacMathan or Colin Matheson would seem wonderfully fitting. I actually love either. ;)

Just a thought!

ETA: I forgot to mention, BTN actually lists Matheson as the Scottish form of MacMathan, which they have as Irish, if either matters to you (I only mentioned Scottish roots above but thought I should clarify).

I love that idea! Those are excellent choices that I never would have thought of! I really love Matheson...now let's just convince my picky husband! ;-)

Oh, good! Glad you liked them. ;)

Colin Matheson is wonderful (and meaningful) ... need me to convince dh? LOL Really, how picky can he be, though? It means "son of Matthew," after all. ;)
