Help with Girls Name

I have one son with the name jackson. I have a one-syllable last name. If we have more sons, they will most likely be two syllable names, but if we have a daughter, our first-choice name is Kate, which is a one syllable first name with a one syllable last name. Her full name would be Katherine, but we'd call her Kate. What do you think? If you hate it, give me some suggestions! I'm really picky about girls names. I don't like boys names for girls and I don't like overly feminine names like Sophia, etc. I also don't like most of the trendy names now like Madison, Hannah, etc. HELP!!!!!!!!!

I personally love the name Kate. I have thought of using it if we have a girl. I think that Kate "Brown" (sample 1 syllable last name) would sound fine...especially if she has Katherine for her given name. As adults most people use their given name in formal settings anyway.

I love Katherine nn Kate. Kate Jackson is an actress too :) so that's the first thing that popped into my head but it's a good name!

Since my name is Kate (short for Katharine) I have to weigh in and say it's a great name. It's fun but not too trendy, there are a lot of options (kate, katie, katharine, i even went by kae for a while in high school!) and it's not one of those names that will hinder them when they become an adult. I used to think my name was SO boring, but now that I'm grown up, I love it. Plus I'm a TV Broadcaster and I like that it's easy to pronounce and I don't have to have a name like Madysynne across the bottom of the screen. Just my two cents!

Kate

I like the names Katherine and Kate but would not want to put a one syll first name with a one syll last name. I would prefer Katie in that case.

I think Kate is beautiful. Simple, yet feminine still. My name is Kathryn but I always went by Kathy. I like Kate though.... perfect.

I think Kate is a very pretty name and would sound fine with a one syllable last name. I also think it's smart to give her the full name Katherine so when she gets older she has other options if she wants them. I say go for it! :)
