HELP! Lorelei Fiona?

I mentioned in a previous post that I was trying to decide between Lorelei Michelle or Fiona Michelle. I just can't decide! I like both names. Although I wanted to use Michelle since it's my mn, WDYT of....

Lorelei Fiona Thomas?

Does it sound okay together or are the names just too different to go together? Lorelei is obviously German and Fiona is Scottish. Do they blend well together or is it a train wreck?

Please help! Thanks!

Lorelei Fiona Thomas sounds nice, I was one of the posters that said they disliked Fiona :) sorry, but I like it MUCH better as a mn, since you really love it. I also like that Michelle has family meaning for you, so that kinda sways be towards Michelle, but I think it is a great compromise to use both names you love!

With the ln Thomas (not too-obviously anything as far as heritage, KWIM?), I think you could pull it off. ;)

To be honest, I much prefer it to using Michelle as a mn, but that really depends on the meaning behind it, besides being your mn. That doesn't read how I mean it (LOL), but basically what I'm trying to say is if your parents chose Michelle for a special reason, I can see the appeal. If it's a filler mn (not knocking it ... I have one!), I wouldn't feel quite as inclined to want to pass it on.

To use my own name as an example, my mn is Ann. Not for any special reason, and exactly like many other girls born in the 70s (actually, my ENTIRE name -- Kelli Ann -- is shared by many of us, even if the spellings may differ LOL). Therefore, although I've considered names like Killian/Cillian or Aine as indirect versions, I wouldn't feel obligated to pass on my exact mn, simply because so many others in that time period have it.

Not sure if all that made any sense, but in short, I think Lorelei Fiona sounds fine. Worst case scenario, some hearing the full name might assume you're trying to honor a mixed German/Scottish heritage (which you may or may not be, and either way, it's really not a terrible assumption). I like it. ;)

~Kelli

I like Lorelei Michelle much better. If Fiona was your grandmother's name or something, I could go for it. But I don't think the two names sound good together.

I don't think it's a train wreck though. If you like the names together, that's what counts.

Now I'm wondering if I should go with Lorelei Mae and honor my grandmother by using her middle name. WDYT about this???

I like it better than Fiona. But I'm sure you'll find as many people who prefer Fiona, but I always choose family names over names I just like.

I think its a beautiful name and sounds lovely, but I always favour family names and passing down a mn to your daughter is a great idea.

I absolutely LOVE the name Fiona, and as you can see, not many other people do. If I were you, I would go with Fiona Michelle. I think it's beautiful! Michelle Fiona doesn't roll off the tongue quite right. I like Lorelai, but it seems like a lot of people are starting to use it.

I LOVE the name Fiona Michelle. Not many people like the name Fiona, but I do. I think it's very elegant.
