I voted for Michelle b/c I think that was one that had personal significance for you -- your first or middle name, right?
Some other middle names that I like...
Lorelei Anna/Ann Thomas
Lorelei Abigail Thomas*
Lorelei Rachel Thomas
Lorelei Sarah Thomas
Lorelei Kathleen Thomas
Lorelei Frances Thomas
Lorelei Claire Thomas
Lorelei Simone Thomas
Lorelei Noelle Thomas*

Steph - you remembered correctly!
I actually thought about using Rachael as it has some significance to me, but I wasn't sure if it flowed.
Also, WDYT about...LORELEI GABRIELLE. Just another idea that popped into my head.
I love Lorelei Evelyn! Evelyn has been a real favourite of mine for a while now, but I also think it's the only one of your choices that provides the elegant, sophisticated image you're aiming for. I also love Lorelei Faye (mentioned in the thread on Lorelei Leigh), but that has more of a comfy, cosy feeling to me, if that makes sense. Lorelei Paige does flow well, but the recent popularity/trendiness of Paige detracts from its potential for elegance. Excluding the popularity factor, I'd say it has perhaps a sleek, modern, tomboy kind of image, which has a certain appeal but not, I think, the one you're looking for. Lorelei Laine has the same alliteration problem that had most people voting against Lorelei Leigh, plus, (and yes, I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record here), there is the Rory (Lorelai) and Lane as best friends on Gilmore Girls thing (I swear, I do watch other shows, I do read, and go out, really!).
Lorelei Michelle I don't feel strongly about one way or the other, which may be the problem with it. It's my sister's middle name, and mine is Marie, and along with a few others I kind of think of those as the default middle names of my (probably our?)generation. There's nothing objectionable about it, and I don't think it detracts from the elegance of Lorelei itself, but I don't think it enhances it either. The questions I would ask yourself are: Does your husband like it because it is your middle name, or does he just like Michelle and is using the namesake factor as a justification? Would you even be considering it if it weren't your middle name? Depending on your answers, you might realize you're just never going to love it, or perhaps, if it's the tie to your name that really matters, a variation might work. I'm not a huge fan of Michaela as a first name right now because, even though I think it is beautiful, elegant and sophisticated in it's traditional spelling, it inevitably gets lost amid a plethora of trendy, 'creative' McCaylas, Makaylas, etc. Used as a middle name, though, I think Lorelei Michaela fits your criteria pretty well. Another option might be Micheline, which can be either mee-keh-leen or mee-sheh-leen.
Lorelei Gabrielle I think is better in theory than in actuality. The combination of the two has the elegance you want in abundance, but it just doesn't flow well to my ear when spoken aloud. I don't know if it's just me, but I find it rather awkward-sounding with too many unstressed syllables together. And I agree with you that Lorelei Rachael lacks a little in flow too, though it's not bad, just not really melodic. Lorelei Rachelle works a little better, if that would maintain the significance for you. Actually, I'm noticing that, despite Lorelei's 'teutonicness', a lot of the names that sound best with it have a distinctly French sound (though many French names go back to German as well, of course). I liked the suggestion of Lorelei Simone from a previous post. I also wondered, since Giselle is out, how you and your husband might feel about Ghislaine (Zhiss-lane or Jhiss-lane)? It's fairly obscure but usually presumed to be a variation of Giselle, only without the gazelle association, and it can also be looked at as building on your idea of Lorelei Laine, but by breaking up the L sounds it's a lot less 'sing-songy'. A few others that I think would flow well and sound elegant: Aline, Camille, Cecile, Mathilde, Odile, Pauline, Regine, Sabine, Sandrine/Cendrine - all of which have the same pattern of stress, which is what sounds particularly elegant with Lorelei to my ear. I'm sure I could come up with more, but I've been rather long-winded already... hope something in here helps!
