I LOVE Hartly and I love that it's a family name. But I don't love it with Thatcher. It's just too much. I almost never like combinations where the first and middle name are both surnames. And because these are both very much surnames and not even popular as first names (which is a good thing, I think!) it makes that even more pronounced. ie This combination bother me more than say...Logan Brady or Carter Graham. So I'd save Hartly for next time (and definitely keep it on the list for next time because it's great!) and go with Thatcher Daniel this time. It's a great combination.

Thanks! I see your point. Hartley has been used several times in our family already (Keith Hartley and Stuart Hartley), neither one surnames. Thank you for pointing that out to us. I agree that Daniel flows better and is also honoring family.

I think with Thatcher being more unusual I would go with a more traditional mn. Love it. Also for some reason Corbin came to mind when I read Hartley. Maybe a future ds?

Thatcher Daniel and Corbin Hartley?

Thatcher! That's adorable. I really like it. Ds (15y.o) actually has a buddy called this, & I've always thought it was great. Thatcher Daniel gets my vote, but either one if fine.
