I like Hester/Hesther/Esther. It's a spunky sort of name that would make a girl stand out in the sea of Charlotte/Sophia/Evelyn/Isabel/Adelaides out there today. She's fit right in as far as the style went but I can almost guarantee she'd be the only Hester amongst them all. What a cool biblical variant!

i like Hester, classy/classic, dignified, distinctive.. i see a pretty, smart girl named Hester.. kinda tomboyish even. my g-gma name was Hester Olive(i never knew her, and she NastiveAmerican even). Hester does have pretty flow. may not be your style but maybe * Hesterre * be a pretty, modern flair, nicely feminine.. tho absolutely nothing wrong with the classic spelling.

I forsee all kinds of off-color jokes coming up when her high school English class reads "The Scarlet Letter."

It just makes me think of John Irving's book A Prayer for Owen Meany. They always called her Hester the Molester. I think in the end she used it as her rock star name.
