It's a cute name. I haven't seen Lori in a while as a given name. My best friend named her baby Lorraine, and is trying to decide if she wants to use Lori or something else as a nickname. Catherine is a classic, can't go wrong with that, although I personally like alternatives like Katrina, Kate, and Katelynn better.

Lori kind of went out of style in my opinion. it's not traditional, not a classic, not old-fashioned, but more like passe' trendy, if you get my drift. all the Lori's I know were born in the 60s and 70s, a few into the 80s, not after that, maybe a few before the 60s.

I wouldn't recommend it. It just seems too definited into the those 60s and 70s era.

Amelia, your other choice, is a much older name, but it's a classic, traditional, those never go out of style (even though they are not my choice of style, I think it'd be better than a trendy passe' name)

good luck

I like Lori a lot, but I like it spelled Laurie better. The Lori spelling seems outdated, but Laurie is more of classical.
