I can pronounce it either way you prefer but I personally prefer Lah-ren. I have a friend Lara... I pronounce her name Lah-ra. Another of my friends says Lore-uh. I realized then, it might even be Lair-uh. lol, I'll have to ask Lara to make sure.
Anyway, it could go either way for me but I love Lauren pronounced Lah-ren.
I have a special interest in this since my name is Laura (pronounced Lah-ra)...and I HATE it when people call me Loh-ra, which is quite often. A lot of it has to do with where poeple are from, north vs south, etc.
Just something to take into consideration. I like my name a lot but hated feeling like I couldn't "correct" people.
I pronounce it Lohr-en unless told otherwise. I knew one person who was (I dont know if I'll get this right?) Lohr-EN with the emphasis on the EN like Ralph Lauren
Okay, so I pronounce it similar to one of yours, but with a different emphasis. Lohr-en.
To me it makes a difference.
Introducing baby #4.......
I pronounce as the pps do so I voted for your 2nd choice.
Lore-in

Thanks!
I agree that it's a regional thing. I'm from the Boston area and say Lah-ra. I pronounce the color organge as "ah-range" so it's a vowel thing for me.
