Both names end in -er, which makes it sound "sing-songy". Both are nice names, but need to be matched up with something different.

I agree with creal01 ... the -er ending of both names is a little too repetitive. Either one is fine paired with another, non-er-ending name.

I disagree on the sing-songyness. The 'er' isn't stressed in Alexander the way it is in Booker. I also feel that since he'll be going by a nickname more often than not, it won't matter at all. I happen to know several people with matching endings and rarely does it sound "off". It has to be when they're both stressed in the same place. Mason Johnson (for example) is rhymey to me. Alexander Booker isn't.
