Maybe I'm weird, but I see the first two as being pronounced "knee-lee" and the last as being "kneel-ee". I know it's a very subtle difference, but does that matter to you. Are you just going for the first pronounciation?

I have actually given the pronunciation a lot of thought. There IS a subtle difference that I had wondered if others would pick up. It is Neal-ee. The feminine form of Neal. But I don't like the spelling of Nealy very well. I just threw it out there to see what others felt about it.

I guess it depends on what you're going for. I know Neela/Nila is an Indian name, so I'd assume the Neel- spellings were pet forms of that. Neala, Neila, Neilla, Neilina, etc. are all feminine forms of Niall (and all it's variations: Neal, Neil), and I've known quite a few male Neal/Neils nicknamed Nealy/Neily, so I'd likewise think Nealy -- or any other Neal- or Neil- spelling -- were nns for these, and therefore Gaelic in origin.

Not sure any of that matters to you, but if you happen to be Indian or Irish/Scottish, that would definitely sway my vote.

FWIW, if one of these IS the origin and meaning you're going for, you could simply use one of those established, more familiar names with Nealy/Neilly (whatever spelling corresponds) as a nn. Just a thought. :)

Gaelic origin. Nially is kind of cool looking but I'm afraid nobody would know how to pronounce it. Nealy is more to the point I guess, but I'm not crazy about the look of it.

Sorry ladies! I'm going to start this one over with a few new additions. If you wouldn't mind voting again, I'd appreciate it! And thanks for the comments I've received already.
