Is it a boy or a girl name?

I am pregnant with twins. I have no idea what sex they are yet, I am only four months along. I really like the name Eden for a boy... Is it more of a girls name? I also like the name Madison for a boy, and in my baby names book it says it is a boys name. On the baby name finder at ivillage, it says it is a girls name. Is Madison a boys name or a girls or BOTH? I know Madison is a bit over done and really popular, but I think for twins it would be cute to have them named Eden and Madison for boys. My first son's name is Emery.

ROTFL--I'm sorry, but I don't think there is any way that Eden can be considered a boy's name. And Madison, while ending in "-son" has been unabashedly been used for girls. No one would consider naming a male child Christina, now would they? *sigh*
Well, best of luck to you! ;-)

sorry, but I'd really feel bad for a boy named Eden. I have never heard such thing or a boy. as far as Madison, yes, it's listed as a boys name, but I don't know a single one - but I'll be I personally know 25 little girls named Madison from age 14 on down to a year old. maybe more. there are absolutely hundreds of them - all girls.

why in the world would you want your boys to have names that people would assume are girls.

I consider both to be girls names. I would find it very strange to see twin boys with those names. Sorry.

Well in my opinion those are both girls names. No matter how they started out now they are girl names. If your were to name your boys that they would be endlessly teased for it.Your other little boy has such a manly name I would pick something like Matthew and Andrew. JMO

Good suggestions!

Or Etan or Ethan for a boy (Etan is the Hebrew version of Ethan)

Instead of Madison, try Mattson, Maddox or just plain Matthew. You could shorten any of them to "Maddy", which is what would happen with Madison anyway.

Seriously, your sons will hate having girls names. True, names like Madison, Ashley, Ashton, Taylor, Tyler, Ryan and Brett used to be boy's names, but the girls have taken them over (or are trying to) so I wouldn't do it.

I know of 1 boy called Madison and he is 14 years old.He hates it because mostly girls have the name.I know of about 6 Madisons that are girls.I know of 2 Edens both are girls.I would never name a boy Eden or Madison.I would use Emory for a boy.Eden I would use for a girl only.

Eden & Madison are both more commonly used for girls.
