I prefer Sophia Layne, truth be told. It's not that I don't like Layne (in fact, I really like it a lot). It's just that I love the name Sophia (but I don't love it spelled with an f).
How many syllables does your last name have? What letter does it start with? This sort of affects the way the name sounds, which affects my vote :-)!
not sure what pronunciation you're going for - but for that reason alone, that I can't tell just by looking at it, means it's a bad spelling either way.
if you're going for LAY-NEE - lots of people will see that as Lane. I know one girl with that spelling, pronounced LAY-NEE - and she was constantly being called Lane - to the point where even teachers in school would say "looks like Lane to me" when she'd correct them - TEACHERS.
if you want LAY-NEE - spell it Laney or Lainie. I voted for Sofia as the middle name. personally I prefer the spelling Sophia there, but that's not as important as spelling LAY-NEE a way that people will know it.
