Jayden... boys or girls name???

  • I like Jayden for a girls name.
  • I think Jayden should be a boys name only.
  • I think Jayden works for either boy or girl.

I don't think Jayden should be used for either.

I like Jayden for a girl because it's so close to Jade which I also think is a girls name. Nices Jade and Jaden (both middles names)

crazy

Can't stand it for boys or girls. It's too forgettable and confusing with all the Aiden, Caden, Hayden, Braydens running around.

No offense but I dislike this name intesnely and think it is very much overused.

If pressed, I'd choose it for a girl though.

Kudos to you for not spelling it too crazily.

Thanks to everybody who voted and for giving your opinions. My best friend is pregnant and they're considering Jayden for their little girl. I personally LOVE the name and think it'd be great for a little girl. I think it sounds too feminine for a boy, JMHO.

Any other opinions, thoughts, etc. would always be welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,
Hollimommy

I honestly don't like it for either sex....

The first time I had heard of this name was when it was announced as the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett. I thought it was a case of "full of herself" b/c I saw this name as her trying to name her son after her by making her name more "masculine". However, I thought it a weird thing to want to do, b/c the "Jade" part is just so prominent, and since Jade is a gemstone name, I see it more for a girl. But anyway, I always saw this name as being "made up" and rather pretentious (again, b/c I saw it as Jada's way of naming her son after her).

THEN, there was this influx of mommies-to-be that wanted to use it for their daughters. Well, I think Jada Pinkett-Smith jumped on the Jayden bandwagon first, and she used it for her SON. If she wanted to name a child after herself, she could have named her DAUGHTER that...

...anyway, i just see the name as far too ambiguous. I suggest that we just let it fall out of public favor...there are so many other nice names to choose from, for both boys AND girls...

Best of luck!

I obviously think it's a girls name as its my dd's name. I dont see it on a man very well and I havent ever met a boy with the name, only girls and alot of them at that.
