Jayson (spelling)

  • Yes
  • No
  • There are a few on this board who don't like the alternative spelling.
  • My husband's name is Jay. Baby Jayson would be named after his daddy.
  • Just wanted to poll to see if the majority dislikes the spelling or if it's just
  • a few. Thanks!

I think spelling Jason this way would still be honoring your DH. Jay is a very common nn for Jason.

I voted "yes" only because of your dh's name, Jay. Otherwise it'd be a strong "no".

I like the meaning behind it, but I think Jason accomplishes this just as well, only without appearing trendy and misspelled, KWIM?

I voted no, but because the father's name is Jay, I understand why you like it, and I think it's reasonable if you decided to use it. I do prefer the more traditional Jason spelling, though, and I think that honors your DH just as much.

I think the main reason I don't like Jayson is because so many names now have random Y's thrown in to make them more "feminine." And honestly, seeing that Y in there makes me question for just a second if this might be a girl who was given a traditionally boy's name.

I don't think there's anything really wrong with Jayson, especially in your case, but I do prefer Jason.
