Sounds like a nn for a girl named Jessica.

And sounds like a boys name.

Jesse is boy and Jessie is girl. Jessie is a nn for Jessica but it is also a long-standing feminine version of Jesse. I LOVE Jessie for a girl but really dislike Jessica. I also like Jesse for a boy very much. Though I do know some folks have used Jesse for girls. The late John Denver for instance - his youngest daughter is named Jesse Belle.

Jesse is all boy to me.

Jessy/Jessie would be a girl's nn.

I agree with previous posters. Jesse is for a boy and Jessie is for a girl.

that is definitely the boy spelling. for a boy I would not spell it any other way, although I dislike it for a boy because it is too feminine sounding, especially since the girls name Jessica became so popular and most of them go by Jessie as a nickname.

as for girls, I don't think Jesse or Jessie should be used without the formal name being Jessica.

just my thoughts.

good luck

No doubt the other posters said the same thing: Jesse is a boy, Jessie the spelling for a girl. I didn't read all the other posts, but just in case, I thought I'd clarify that.

Jessie and Jesse are great names for a girl or boy, respectively. I just think it's important to get the correct spelling for the gender.

As an aside, my Grandmother's name was Jessie. She didn't like the fact that it was just plain Jessie, not Jessica. She used to tell people her real name was Jessica, even though it really wasn't. (And she had a sister named Bess. Not Elizabeth with the nickname Bess. Just plain old Bess.)
