Just curious...which double name?

- Ana Charlotte (ah-nah)
- Anna Charlotte (ann-uh)
- Ruth Whittington
You will be able to change your vote.

I voted Clara Charlotte because Clara was the only first name that is okay to me. If I was to vote on which flowed the nicest I'd go with Ruth Whittington. Even though I dislike the name Ruth I think this flows amazingly. What about Clara Whittington? The 1-syllable name does flow better with Whittington, though. You're right, we definitely have different tastes. Different ends of the spectrum, lol.
Terra.
My cousin's name is Carri, so Carrie Ruth is out. Also, it seems a bit heavy on the Rs to me...for that matter, so does Clara Charlotte, but I thought I'd include it for the heck of it. I also recognize that Clara Charlotte is a little cumbersome to say...I prefer Ana Charlotte.
More than one person has mentioned the length of the names. I don't think these names are all that long...Ana Charlotte is only 4 syllables, which is only 1 more than Carrie Ruth or Anna Kate, which was mentioned earlier. My cousin's name is Mary Allison, and none of us seem to struggle from the strain of getting out all 5 syllables in her name. I babysit for (or have in the past) girls named Mary Catherine, Mary Elizabeth, Sara Margaret and Sarah Elizabeth (obviously not all in one family). Maybe it's just different in the South, but we don't limit our double names to 8 or 9 letters.
So, I guess my question is this: if I introduced my daughter, perhaps Eva Caroline or Ana Charlotte, to you, would you just refuse to use both names? Do they not sound good together? I don't want to cause her problems in the future (and of course, this is just a hypothetical daughter, since I'm neither pregnant nor planning to be in the near future), but I really like double names. And I don't like really short nicknamey double names (Anna Kate, for instance...there's nothing wrong with it, it just seems like it should be short for Anna Katherine).
I need more feedback...explain to me why it's more difficult or cumbersome to say Ana Charlotte than it is to say Elizabeth, when they have the exact number of syllables. I'm open to dumping the double name idea, but I need to be convinced.
Thanks!
Well, let's see... I have lived all over the country & mostly in the south.
Wilbur Uberstank it is, then...boy or girl! I'm going to laugh about that one for days. :-)
Edited to correct the spelling of Wilbur...dreadful to get that one wrong!
