Caroline/Carolina isn't a place name. It was a woman's name before it became a place name, vs. most of the others, which were place names before they began being used as girls' names.

I wasn't being technical. It was just a fun poll.

I don't know... I don't think Paris, London or Savannah, etc. were women's names first. I grew up in Virginia and understand its etymology.

Why are you telling me to cool it? I was just trying to explain that your initial supposition wasn't exactly correct. I didn't say anything about them not being appropriate names, just that they weren't all naming a child a "place name".

You know what's funny... Caroline, Georgia and Rosalie are all names in my family, one of which is a sister, a mother and a daughter! We actually have similar taste, despite that you thought I needed to "cool it!"

Yes, I do love all those names! If things go as planned, I will someday have daughters named Caroline and Rosalie. Perhaps even an India, though one hates to hope for perfection.
