Just for fun girl name poll

  • Which is the best name for a girl to go with brothers:
  • Brendan, Aaron, & Joshua
  • Joelle
  • Livia
  • Kelsey
  • Cassandra
  • Alayna or Elaina (not sure which spelling I like better)

You will be able to change your vote.

Since my vote tipped the balance between Cassandra and Alayna/Elaina, figured I'd respond and say it was a toss-up between the two for me. Either would be great with Brendan, Aaron and Joshua (thinking of a #4 someday? hehe). ;)

Of the two spellings you listed, I'd prefer Elaina, but Alaina would be nice too (the best of both worlds LOL). I also like Alana/Alanna(h).

Don't you love naming "what-if" children? LOL

Yes, we do think we will have a 4th SOMEDAY, but for sure not in the next 2 years! I really like Elaina and Cassandra best myself (this week anyway!)

Oh, that's so great Theresa ... I'd love to at least have "SOMEDAY." ROFL Right now Jason's like "isn't it hectic enough with three?" ;) Of course, two of them are under 2, and I don't plan on doing that again (nor did I this time, but it's working out just fine). I think I could do one more in about three years -- and that would definitely be it for us.

How is little Joshua, btw? What is he now, about 4 or 5 months? How are the older boys with him?

Ok, I'll stop hijacking the thread now. ;)

Take care.

Kelli--Sorry it took my so long to reply, but we are crazy over here and I want it all to stop! Joshua is 4 months now and is the best baby! Love how calm he is, he is so quiet and rarley cries at all. The "big brothers" are doing great with him. Brendan tries to help me out when I ask and Aaron is the super-protective, loving, affectionate middle child. If he even thinks that someone is holding the baby too long, he makes sure to let them know that Joshua is "our baby" and we will be taking him home with us. It's really cute to see how much he loves the baby.

i feel for you having 2 below age 2. Brendan and Aaron are only 19 months apart and it was tough at first, but it is great now. They are best of buds (and even worst of enemies the other days).

I hope the girls are all being great for you. And I just love the nn Aila, its such a pretty name to go with the other two!

Oh...looks like Kelsey is winning the poll, which shocked me. I kinda like the name but not sure if its really my style.....

Aw, so glad to hear everyone's getting along so nicely. ;) Devanie's 19 months now, and she's so into the baby. As soon as she sees her or hears her cry she runs right over (singing "Ai-laaaaa" the entire time LOL) and starts rubbing her head to make her feel better. She also likes to try to help me burp her, but she doesn't seem to realize those "pats" of hers are supposed to be on her back ... not her head or whatever other body part is within reach. LOL All well-intentioned, though. She never tries to hurt her purposefully. ;) I'm actually surprised she's interested in the baby at all. I kind of thought she'd ignore her for the most part. But even when Aila's napping or something she'll get one of her dolls, all of which are "Aila," and carry it around wrapped in a blanket. So cute. ;)

Thanks for the compliment on Aila, btw. :) Jay thought people might think we were nuts to try and use an "alternative" nn (but really so far his family are the only ones to act like that LOL), but I think it was worth it. It fits her perfectly (I can't imagine calling her Abby ... although she does get Webigail/Webby from Kaitlyn once in a while, since she discovered Duck Tails ROFL). And it definitely makes me more comfortable with her having such a popular name.

Ps. I was surprised about Kelsey, too! Not a bad name, but it just doesn't have the same style as your boys' names, IMO. If you haven't noticed, you've inspired me to do my own just-for-fun post. Maybe I'll do a poll after I get some more suggestions. ;)

I voted for Cassandra, but it was tough. I came very close to voting for Livia. I think, in a vacuum, Livia would have gotten my vote, or at least it would have been deadlocked. But with Olivia being so popular, the scales were tipped in Cassandra's favor. Either of those would be a fabulous choice though.

Joelle is okay, but doesn't stand out to me. I actually like it a lot as a middle name. (Also, I think Joshua and Joelle are a bit matchy.)

I adore Kelsey, it's one of my guilty pleasures. But I've never been convinced that it works well on a grown up. And it just doesn't seem to go with your boys' names. (Except Brendan. Brendan and Kelsey would be a great set.)

Alayna/Elaina -- I actually like Elena a lot, Elaina is okay, and I really dislike Alayna. This is one I hear a lot though and I just don't love it. It's pretty, but doesn't do anything special for me.
