I've just always thought that (kail-lee) and (kale-lyn) sounded much better than (kay-lee) and ( kay-lyn).

So how do you pronounce kail-lee and kale-lyn? The problem is that there are two L sounds next to each other, so unless you make it two words I don't know how you'd separate those two Ls.

Just a guess here since I'm obviously not the original poster, but I think rather than trying to actually put

I wouldn't spell it any of those ways it looks very mad up those spellings and the spellings don't seem to flow

how about
just:

Kalen
Calen
Kalenn

Okay, I can see what you mean about the possibility that what the original poster meant was that the name would sound like Kale-in. Either that or the original poster has a really thick southern accent, since that's the only way I can get myself to form Kale-lin as one word.

And if you're right about the Kale-in idea, I have an idea for a spelling.

I think it just needs two "l"s. Look at Kaillen or Kaellyn and see if you get where I'm going with this. I think that there's something almost psychologically different between seeing it with one "l" and two "l"s that tricks the brain into seeing the first syllable as "KALE" rather than "KAY."

Now tell me if I'm crazy :)

So, suggestions are:

Kaellyn
Kaillen
Kayllin
Kaalluhn ;)

The other option is to end it in "anne" instead of "lynn" so that people see the final syllable as starting with the "a" rather than the "l." Another little trick. Try:

Kaylann
Kailanne
Kaelan

But all that being said and all those spellings later, I think that you should just consider the simplest possibility: Calen.

I would spell (KALE-Lyn) as Kailyn or Kaylin. or even Kailin.
