I think it's nice enough, but I like it better spelled Lilybet. Lillibet makes me think of Lilliput, the town of little people in Gulliver's Travels.

Just my 2 cents,

Stephanie w/ Megan (6/6/03) and #2 due 11/25/04

Oh I love it! Out of all of your polls for girl names, this one is my favorite! I must say that I like the Lilibet spelling better, but that's such a small difference that it doesn't matter.

I'm really attached to Talbot, but have gotten such a bad reaction from this board and in-laws (although dh and mother love it), that I'm considering a similar sounding name, such as Elisabet or Lisbet or Lillibet. I haven't seen it spelled Lilibet before, but I like it.

Thanks for the input!

I absolutely adore the nn Betsy but Lillibet sounds like the way young children pronounce Elizabeth

I am so sorry, but I really don't like it at all. As one other perrson said, it sounds like a child with an articulation problem saying Elizabeth. I think Betsy is really really cute!!!

Okay, how do you say it? Lil-eee-bet or Lil-ah-bet? I think Lily is really cute. Why not go with Talbot? The only thing is the clothing store I guess. Name her what you like!!

Just wanted to say that if you and dh love a name, that's what really matters. I am pretty sure that nobody liked my daughters name, Deja Rene, when we named her that. Luckily no one was impolite enough to say anything to our faces. But after a while I think the name grew on everyone. And I think now it has positive feelings for everyone. I am one of the folks who does not care for Talbot, but it's not my kid :)

Lilybet is nms but an interesting alternative to Elizabeth. I only like the nn Lily for it though-not Betsy, Betty or Libby
