My Husband and I are still searching for a name. Everytime we think we have found one we change our minds. We have 2 daughters Hayley pronounced (Hay-leigh) Marie and Kelsey Elizabeth, both combinations are family names. My husband came across the name Lainey, and liked the combination of Lainey Noelle, I like it but, have some reservations. What are your opinions?
Thanks,
Kellie

Sounds nicknamish to me but I love the name Laine. The "ee" sound makes it sound like a nn to me. I would go with Elaine nn Lainey or nn Laine.
I like it, I think its got the right amount of "trendiness" to go along w/ your other names.
I don't care for Lainey on its own with your other daughters' names because Hayley and Lainey are so similar in sound. I think Delaney Noelle would sound lovely.

I'm not sure I'm crazy about the spelling Lainie. I kind of prefer Laney. there's also Laynie or Layney.
one to NOT do - is Layne. I know one spelled that way and her entire life (she's now 19) she was constantly correcting people who called her Lane like a lane of traffic. even when she'd said 'it's Lan-ee' some people (even teachers) would respond to her "it looks like Lane to me".
so other than that spelling, I'd say go for it.
I can see your trend (I think) - if you still have reservations here are some other names I think go to that trend with Hayley and Kelsey
Aubrey, Molly, Torri, Whitney, Zoe.
good luck.
Lainey is cute, and goes well with your other daughters' names (in style and sound)...I do agree with the posters that said that Lainey sounds a little nicknamish...also, I think the name is a little heavy on the "n"s with the mn Noelle.
I like the pp's suggestion of Delaney-- I think that goes nicely with your other names. But again, with the mn Noelle, the "n"s are close together. What about Delancy? That separates the "n"s a little bit.
Best of luck to you!
