I like Mark/Marc. Prefer the spelling Marc, only because Mark is also a noun name ( like as in "checkmark" sort of association there) It's a nice, simple, manly classic. :)

JMHO, as always

I love Mark---it's cute but not cutesy, suits baby, boy or man and doesn't predispose people's conceptions of your son. I have a cousin named Mark Everett and am now teaching a boy named Mark Anthony---both bright, boyish and the rough and ready sort. I like the Mark spelling, but that's just personal preference---I'm sure Marc is just as nice. By the way, I would've probably had Mark pegged as my third son's name if my cousin hadn't named his son Mark Jr.---they call him Markie.

Markie! That's what I used to call MY cousin Mark and boy, did he HATE it. LOL He's the one cousin I have closest in age to me, so we spent a lot of time together as kids. He grew up to name his kids Nicholas, Ryan & Marissa! Not a Mark/Marc to be seen!

Just HAD to comment on that! My opinion on spelling stands from my previous post. :)

My brother is Marc and he loves spelling it with a "c" because so many other Marc's out there spell it with a "k". Yes its hard to find a magnent or toothbrush with "Marc" on it but its okay...... ;)

I love the name Mark/Marc. It is not used very much any more so he will probably be the only one in his class with it.

I think the big problem with Mark is it's so abrupt-sounding, so adult-sounding. if you can get past it for the first few years it's a great name once a boy is a little older. it's just not a good baby name, but obviously everyone has to start out as a baby.

I prefer the Mark spelling.

Mark is nice, I don't love it, but I don't hate it by any stretch, either. I prefer Mark, don't know why since I prefer Eric over Erik! LOL! It's a solid classic name that will serve a boy and a man equally well, & it isn't too popular.
