Martina...please give opinion, and quick!
- Like it
- It's ok
- Hate it
- She would be named after my recently deceased grandfather Martin

I'd name her Martin. It's sort of a surnamey first name, but given its significance in your family, I really like it. And I definitely prefer it over Martina.
Martin would also be very nice as a part of a double name...Anna Martin, for instance.
It's not a name I really love, but I definitely like that you would be honoring your grandfather. (I'm assuming here that you don't love Martina and are considering it only because of the emotional significance. If you love Martina, go for it and disregard the rest of this!)
I love the idea of giving her Martin as a middle name. As the pp said, it wouldn't seem that unusual since Martin is a surname as well as a boy's first name, and it's common for girls to have surnames as middle names. Martin goes well with just about everything, so you could use a name you really love as the first name.
Here are some random examples of how it goes nicely with lots of girls names:
Isabella Martin
Josephine Martin
Amelia Martin
Ruby Martin
Piper Martin
Claire Martin
Anna Martin
Talia Martin
Genevieve Martin
Camilla Martin
Lorelei Martin
I rather see a girl with a girl name Martina and then the boy name Martin. I so love Martina and I think it is sweet and it is a good way of honoring a man in the family.
I knew a girl named Martina and she was named after her great grand dad Martin.
I knew a really cool girl (in a good way) in high school named Martina, so I think it is a nice name. If you really love a different name more, I think Martin would be a great mn like pp have said.
Good luck!
Thanks belle_petite for the siggy!
I like Martina a lot, and I'd almost certainly use it in your case since it would honor your grandfather. It has a slight Eastern European feel in my mind because of Martina Navratilova and Martina Hingis, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Just wanted to point that out...
I have only good associations with the name Martina (based on people I've known IRL), and I think it's a great choice.
