Although the name is not really my style, I do prefer Monica to Monika. I'm not sure why, and it may sound trivial, but the Monika spelling makes me want to ignore the "i" for some reason. When I look at it quickly, I see "Monka" ... again, I don't really know why lol.

Monika would be the German spelling, where my roots are. I actually have a first cousin in Germany name Monika, spelled with the K, and pronounced: Moan-ee-kah.

I am partial to K's because of their "germanality" (LOL), my dad is Klaus, my son is Erik.

Other "k" names with a similar feel are Annika and Erika. All nice!

I said yes, I like it fine, but it doesn't just jump out at me :) I definitely prefer the Monica spelling though-looks more classic to me, if you will :)
