I vote for Donald Ray Renfrow IV and call him Quad!

Quad is such a cool nn for the 4th. Also, I'd hate to see the family tradition stop now! Save the Parker, Aidan , etc names for if they ever have a 2nd boy. Parker, Allen, Corbin and Aidan (spelled this way) are fine, but they cannot compare to the pride a boy/man feels from being named after his father, grandfather, etc. Plus the nn Quad is just so awesome!

You know, I was thinking the same thing! Why would she insist on giving her child another cookie cutter -den name when she could give her son (and her DH) the pride and tradition of carrying on the family name? I would love to name my son after his father, if only he would let me!

How about Donovan? Then he still gets another "Don" but with a more modern sound.

I dont agree with the other ladies, I think every child should have their own identity. My older brother was named after my dad and it hasnt bonded them anymore then my dad and my younger brother are. Yes its the family name, but you can pass it on as a middle name instead or combine it with the first name and give the child their own identity. I am a big fan of passing on family names. My mom and my grandfathers middle names are Lee, I am naming my daughter Navahlee. I want to pass my dh's middle name on to our first son and my dh loves that. It's just as special and much less confusing. lol.

***I think Donald Parker is great, and he can go by Parker, but still have the fist name of his ansestors. I think that is great and would make them both happy, of course they both have to compromise.***

I was in a similar situation with ds...dh is Randolph William, Jr and he desperately wanted to name ds III.
