Elizabeth is such a beautiful, classic name that I don't think it's possible for it to be "overused." It has so many nickname possibilities that even if there are several Elizabeths in the same class, each one can still be called something different.
Even though we know several Elizabeths under the age of 10, we're considering it as a first name for this baby if we have another girl. The girls we know are Lizzie, Libby, Beth, and Elizabeth. If we use the name, we'll pick a different nickname.

I don't find it overused at all, it is a lovely classic. I know more adults than kids with the name. I think that because there are so many nn's for it, it seems less common than it is. I love Libby and Beth.
I should clarify - as a first name not a middle name.
Thanks!

I know it's in the top 10 for girls names but the only Elizabeth I know is my DD. Well for little girls I know plenty of adults with the name.
