My husband and I are TTC and we have just started discussing names and can't agree on anything!!! We both like the idea of old fashioned names that aren't too unique, but aren't being used a lot now. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome! I have a huge list of old fashioned names that go with the trend of today but haven't emerged yet.

BEWARE- Charlotte, Audrey, Camille, Eleanor, Julia. I think these are still on the way up.

Anything old with an E- is huge already (Eva, Eve, Ella, Emma, Emily)

Ava, Isabella/Isabel, Anna/Anabel/Anabella/ Catherine, & Olivia, Madeline and as mn- Rose, Grace, Kate & Mae are already big. Sarah, Rachel, Caroline, Elizabeth & Rebecca are old names that are always popular.

Okay-here goes my list of old but not too popular or too outdated-

Louisa, Genevieve, Vera, Colleen, Gwendolyn, Halle, Gloria, Corinne(I like cor-rinn), Claudia, Jewel, Betsy, Sadie, Kathleen, Delilah, Norah, Maeve, Lillian, Lydia, Selena, Cosette, Miriam, Leah, Clarice, Nina, Gemma, Naomi, Ivy, Adelaide, Maude, Cora, Cassandra, Margo, Vivian, Tess(is regionally popular), Thea, Lily(is regionally popular), Molly, Maura, Muriel, Helen, Stella, Sabrina, Celeste, Meredith, Adeline, Marisol, Margaret, Millicent, Gretchen, Beatrice, Vanessa, Marjorie, Greta, Elaine/Elaina, Rosemary

Boys- The old stand-by Biblical names are always big, but people are also looking for "new" ones. Most Bible names with vowels are VERY big. Of course always- Matthew, Joshua, James, Zachary, Jacob, Daniel, Joseph, Andrew but also now- Luke/Lucas, Noah, Josiah, Samuel, Elijah, Ethan, and recently emerging- Isaac, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Nathaniel---Also watch out for- Maxwell/Max, Henry, Alexander

I love these old fashioned boys' names- *Rhett*, Preston, Theodore(Theo), William(Liam), Asher, Ramsey, Archer, Stefan, Oliver, Garreth, Hugh,

Or what about- Aaron, Jonah, Ian, Timothy, Lawrence(Lawe, Rence, Ren), Richard(Ridge), Jeremiah, Zane, Phillip, Patrick(Pate), Simon, Frederick, Jude

Hope this helps- Keep us posted! Ginger

Thanks for all the great ideas! I see a few that I like. Do you think Lila would be too much with the last name LeNoue (pronounced le-new')

Thanks,

Sarah
