Piper- This name seemed very strange to me the first time I heard it, but now that it is popping up a bit more it is growing on me. It is very spunky.
River- Nmsaa. I really don't like "place" names, seems unnecessary to me
Fiona- love it, very spunky.
Lorelei- Love it and it is very underused
Violet- Gorgeous.
Gwen- I love this, you could also go with Gwenyth or Gwendolyn nn Gwen, but its nice on its own too
Julia- a beautiful classic
Lainey- I like this, but only as a nn- Delaney or Elaine maybe? It is too "cute" to stand its own
Kaylee- ugh, if I hear this name one more time.... WAY too popular and besides that its not nearly as nice as the other names on your list
Emma- sweet and classy

Piper -- nmsaa (I think of a fuzzy craft pipe cleaner or a plumber, installing and fixing pipes)
River -- nms, especially as a girl's name
Fiona -- love it
Lorelei -- great, especially with the ln Thomas (Lorelei is just a bit more unique, which is a nice balance with a common ln) ... GMV
Violet -- like it a lot, but not with Thomas at all (the T sounds run right into one another)
Gwen -- love it, but prefer it as a nn for something longer (especially with a more common ln like yours) ... Gwendolen, Guinevere, Gwyneth, etc., nn Gwen, would be great
Julia -- beautiful. This was my second favorite for you
Lainey -- not as a given name. Delaney, Delaina, Dylana or even just Laine, nn Lainey, but as a full name it just seems too cutesy, KWIM?
Kaylee -- cutesy again, especially this spelling, but it'd be a nice nn for a K name (Katherine, Kyla, etc.)
Emma -- nice, but I prefer a few of the others on your list. Also, Emma being more common, I'd think you'd run into quite a few other little Emma Thomases, so that would kind of turn me off this combo, KWIM?

I've noticed Violet is getting a lot of votes. Do you think Violet Thomas runs too much together? This was my only concern with this name...

I had voted for Violet but just went back and changed my vote to Lorelei. I hadn't said the names with the last name so the thought that they would run together didn't occur to me, I just voted for my fave name in the list. Violet Thomas isn't the best combo though, but Lorelei Thomas is beautiful.

I do think Violet Thomas runs together too much.
