I like Marjorie a LOT. and either Jori or Marjie are great nn in my opinion (I have a cousin Jori (not a nn, just her name) and an aunt Marjorie who goes by Marj/Marjie. Great choice!!!

I LOVE that name SOOOOO MUCH!!!!

I always wanted to name my daughter Marjorie (NN Jorie)! It sounds GREAT with the other names you have!

Go for it!

I think Marjorie is great! I have heard it on people in their early 20s, so it is definitely one that most people will know and recognize. Plus, it has lots of good nickname potential--Marj, Marjie, Jorie (although that's not my favorite), Mari, Mara. It's a name that will transition well from cute toddler to high school student to professional.

I'm looking for alternate spellings for Marjorie also? I like the way it's spelled this way but the nn Marjie just looks too much like "Marijuana" to me for some reason, not a good thing... I think I've seen it spelled Margery but that makes me think of "Margarine", lol, although I prefer nn Margie.

Haven't brought it up to dh, though, he gives me this Look whenever I bring up a new name. He's afraid to have a daughter because the poor thing will never get named, LOL

I'm really loving Vanessa the most right now, it's probably my favorite right now.

Thanks for the comments everybody.

Marjory is the usual Scottish spelling, Marjorie more modern - I like Margery best myself.

How about Margot Blanche?
